I just got a Lenovo H50 desktop. It has an RTL8821AE wireless card built-in. It keeps losing its connection even when Wicd/nm-applet says it's connected. I've verified that it's neither Wicd nor Networkmanager, since this happens with either. I've verified it's not my actual internet connection at the modem. When I plug in a USB wifi adapter, the USB wifi works perfectly and never drops out unless the modem lost its connection. (It's DSL. Yuck, I know. I'm stuck with it.)
Has anyone had this issue with this machine? If so, what did you do to fix it, if you did? I'm using genkernel. I thought maybe some subset of ACPI might be causing the wifi card to go to sleep when not used, but this happens even when I've turned all that off in menuconfig. _________________ decibel Linux: https://decibellinux.org
