hdd1 is the boot and system drive.
on hdd2 are many movies and audio files.
i created symlinks on hdd1 they are linked to the audio/video files on a hdd2.
hdd2 is shutdown for power saving.
if i go into the folder with the symlinks, is hdd2 wake up and start?
or is hdd2 only wake up and start if i access on of the symlinks? |

SarahS93,
hdd2 will only wake up if its actually accessed. That is, when a symlink is followed. _________________ Regards,

You will wake up the second drive when you attempt to access data stored on this drive.
Reading a symlink stored on drive 1 doesn't count. Accessing data poointed to with that symlink (e.g. opening that file) does. |
