hey, i have an apollo p2600 (made by hp) so i emerged the newest hpijs drivers (which support it), but i dont know how to setup my printer... my main objective is to atleast be able to use it in oppenoffice.org (so i can print my work out)....thnx 4 feeback!! |

so nobody knows how to install a printer?
ps - i would like to use cups as my printer manager because thats what i used on redhat and it worked great... |

hey I am with you man!
I followed the printing guid.... and there are no hpijs drivers properly listed in the foomatic database...
ya I at one point had to search for them by hand ........ then I found this......
http://www.linuxprinting.org/foomatic.html
go down the page and grab the foomatic-db-hpijs and put it in your .../foomatic/db/
then follow the instructions as per gentoo printing guide.
don't know why there isn't an ebuild ...grumble .....grumble... _________________ there is no crazy, only violet and non violet.. |
