I had build problems with some packages on my PowerMac G5 (boost-1.56.0-r1, gtkmm-3.18.1) and out of curiosity I tried gcc-5.4.0 to see if it fixes these issues. To my surprise it did! To get the dependencies right you need to rebuild world (emerge -e world --keep-going=y) with gcc-5.4.0. This process went unusually flawless as well. I use 64bit kernel, 32bit userland.
gcc-5.4.0 seems to be in a good state for PowerPC-machines! _________________ Talos II. [Gentoo Linux] | PMac G5 11,2. PMac G4 3,6. PBook G4 5,8. [MorphOS 3.18 / Gentoo Linux] | Vampire V4 SA [ApolloOS / Amiga OS 3.2.2] |
