This problem is driving me crazy:
when i try to mount /mnt/cdrom as a user with 2.6-kernel, i got this message:
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/cdroms/cdrom0, or too many mounted file systems
if i mount it as root it works fine...
With 2.4-kernel, everything works fine...
Please... let me know if anyone has any suggestion...
Thanx! |

JustOne,
mount is normally a root only option.
To allow users to mount particular filesystems, edit /etc/fstab to include the users option in filesystesms that are to be user mountable.
e.g for a cd Quote: | /dev/cdroms/cdrom0 /mnt/dvd iso9660,udf noauto,ro,users 0 0 |
That should be all one line.

was it a data cd or an audio cd? i got this error today when i put an audio cd in...apparently it's mounted automatically, but nothing appears in the /mnt/cdrom dir...when i open the dir with xmms though i get all the songs.. _________________ fortune men-women:

casper,
Audio CDs don't have a filesystem, so you don't (can't) mount them.
