So I ran into this random problem while searching for packages. Sorry if it is in the wrong section, please move it as you see fit.

Also I'm using a package 'termite' from the overlay eroen, I'm unsure of how eroen is the cause of this error.

Both dev-python/awkwardduet-1.1_pre4::eroen and net-misc/sendspace-cli-0.1.0::eroen have been updated to EAPI=6. Perhaps you don't have an up-to-date version of portage?

Yes, updating the overlay fixed the problem. Thanks for your help.
