I currently in the process of setting up an open mosix cluster. I have a working build of gentoo with the gentoo sources and I have installed the openmosix-sources and the user tools. I've built the kernel but then my kernel modules won't load. (ne2k-pci)--They load fine with the gentoo sources. Any ideas?

I'm too running af test openmosix cluster...

I too hade that problem... And I did a recompil 4 times!!!! And then I saw the dir had a incorrect name... You have to rename /lib/modules/2.4.17-openmosix-mosix (I think can't remember) to /lib/modules/2.4.17-openmosix (I think can't remember)

Hope thats fix your problem

The dir you have too rename is:
/lib/modules/2.4.17-openmosix-r2-mosix/
The dir most be named:
/lib/modules/2.4.17-openmosix-r2/

The e-build I used was:
openmosix-sources-2.4.17-r2.ebuild

By renaming the dir the problem was fixed for me..... Hope it fixes it for you ;-)

mine was a little different. I had to do this because the module loader was looking for /lib/modules/2.4.19/:

Code:

ln -s /lib/modules/2.4.19-openmosix-r5 /lib/modules/2.4.19

you rename your /lib/modules/*mosix* folder to match exactly the sources folder you build the kernel from.

so

if /usr/src/2.4.19-openmosix-r5 then /lib/modules/2.4.19-r5

or

if /usr/src/mosix-2.4.18 then /lib/modules/mosix-2.4.18

get it?
