Portage is awesome.....I love it!

I was exploring it today and found a package I never would have expected to come across....back orifice 2000. I was curious as to why its in the portage tree at all. The only use I've ever known it to have is to "hack" windows users. Remote administration......bah!
I'd never seen bo2k on linux before, so out of sheer curiousity, I looked for all of the packages relating to bo2k in portage:

Code:
root@fux0red syn # emerge -s bo2k

They are all masked. Why is this? Are they dependancies of some sort? Please excuse my ignorance, I'm still pretty new to gentoo. :)

take a look at /usr/portage/profiles/package.mask
look for the bo2k entries... there is usually a comment saying why it is masked.. you can comment the appropriate lines (using # at the beginning of the line) to unmask it. if it isn't there, it is probably only masked because it is unstable. do ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge <BO2KSTUFF>
