For some reason when i try to do an "emerge system" it cannot get certian dependiencies downloaded. is there anything i can do? i am doing a stage 1 install. this is also the second time i have installed gentoo. i also tried setting a mirror but i kept getting errors. i wan't to compile everything from source to try to get more speed out of my lowsy machine. it's an old IBM PC 365. PPro 200, 160mb RAM, S3 video card (i only have 2 wopping megabytes of video memory lol) so im going for as much speed as i can get. i also plan on putting the 2.6.0-test9 kernel on this machine. if you have any ideas as to what i can do that would be great. _________________ www.go-linux.org |

you can get love ebuild at breakmygentoo... i don't know about mirrors but i saw someone complaining about ibiblio a moment ago.. there are lots of mirrors they can't be all down. Use mirrorselect or go to the mirrors list at gentoo.org.
[EDIT] there's a livecd with 2.6 kernel here: http://gentoo.oregonstate.edu/experimental/x86/livecd/ |
