Come da topic, si inchioda l'istallazione, quando deve inizializzare hda (credo inizializzare)
pc:
P4C800 DELUXE
P4 3GHZ HT / 800
512 ram a 400 dual channel
2HD da 80 (non montati sul raid perche ancora so un po inesperto e winzoz install manco partiva)
credo possano bastare queste info, cmq se vi serve chiedete
se qualcuno ha avuto il mio stesso problema, e l'ha risolto, può dirmi come?
(ho cercato un po in giro con l'amico google) però non ho trovato proprio quello che mi aspettavo, e quindi non sono riuscito ancora ad installarlo
ps. il cd rovinato non può essere dato che parte su altre macchine

Attenzione devi settare l'interfaccia IDE com compatible mode, se e' in enanched mode, linux fa' un bordello
L'opzione si tova nel primo menu' appena entri nel bios e si chiama IDE SETUP deve stare su compatible mode
Se usi il livecd 1.4 funziona ok, quello col 2.6 non boota

Si infatti è proprio come dici tu,
il problema era che dovevo mettere compatibile mode
in + all'uni un ragazzo mi ha detto che una volta installato linux in compatibile mode, basta patchare il kernel 2.4 per usarlo in enchanted mode
oppure usare direttamente il 2.6 che lo fa funzionare
io ora sto installando...vi faccio sapere come va a finire
cmq l'errore che mi dava era questo
arrivato a hda: attached ide etc...
si bloccaba linux
non da un errore, si blocca e basta

Se sai come fare fungere il tutto in enanched mode, faccelo sapere, visto che con il 2.6.0-test9-mm3 ( ultimo kernel di andrew morton il maintainer della serie 2.6.0) non funziona in enanched mode almeno da me, parte va' tutto ok, ma ad un certo punto esce fuori disabled irq 169 e sta' li cosi' senza fare nulla

Un conoscente mi ha detto che con il kernel 2.4.*-ac funziona in enhanced mode
il 2.6 non lo so
sto ancora installando.... ronf ronf

Scusate se faccio il pignolo, ma è "enhanced"!!!!
enchanted mi sapeva troppo di RPG, mi vedevo l'HD che lanciava un dado 1d4 di salva contro incantesimo!!!
Non ce l'ho fatta a trattenermi
