Can't load sb module for integrated ISA sound

I have an old machine with a daughter card that plugs into the motherboard with a ribbon cable. It's an ISA-based soundblaster 16 compatible from the Pentium Classic era. I added
Code:
sb io=0x200 irq=5 dma=1

to /etc/modules.autoload, which fails on boot. I tried modprobe sb with no parameters, and that didn't work either. Any ideas?
