Alura, sarò diretto:
Sto cercando di avere l'acc. 3d sul laptop (dal quale ho tolto tutto di Win, compresa l'etichetta col logo 'Designed for Microsoft Windows XP' !!!), un Fujitsu-siemens Amilo A 600...
Monta una Radeon Mobility IGP320M (ho già letto il post di tavec https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=99232&highlight=igp320), ma nn è il metodo che voglio usare.
Volevo partire provando con xfree-drm.
Allora inizio a mettere i pezzi di kernel giusti, indi

e cerco il chipset giusto nella sezione character devices, sopo aver selezionato agpgart.

1- Mi sono sempre trovato molto bene col DRM
2- Non mi va di passare al vanilla
3- Non mi va di patchare XFree86
4- Ho provato a ricompilare il kernel con TUTTI i supporti per tutti i vari chipset, ho installato il DRM, ho modificato XF86Config, ho caricato il modulo radeon, ho dato startx ed X va, purtroppo col poratile nn posso dare glxinfo | grep rendering perchè nn ho il tasto | (so che il codice ascii è 124, ma ho provato con ALT+FN+JKU (con FN trasformo JKU in 124) o CTRL+FN+JKU o ogni possibile cominazione di tasti funz. ma nn mi fa inserire i codici ascii), se lancio glxgears le rotelle girano, anche se lentamente.

potrebbe essere solo perchè la mia kernel è 2.6.0, ma io ho chipset ATI sotto agpgart... con molti altri che non hai elencato...
se lo hanno aggiunto nel 2.6.0, forse ti conviene aggiornare, tanto ormai è stabile... e veloce..

Stai facendo confusione.
Non c'entra il chipset con quello che hai postato.
Posta l'output del comando dmesg.

A parte gli errori dell'ACPI, mi sembra che con il 2.6 non ci siano problemi. AGPgart ha riconosciuto il tuo device e non dà nessun errore!

Probabilmente è dovuto al fatto che la scheda video è integrata!
Sul mio pc con scheda video non integrata scrive il modello del chipset della MB

Forse non ci stiamo capendo.
I chipset che elencava stefanonafets all'inizio del post NON sono della scheda video, ma del chipset della piastra madre!

Bè, quello che intendevo (a scanso di equivoci) è quello che in lspci viene indicato come AGP Bridge, ke è un ATI, nn supportato dal 2.4.x, ma lo è dal 2.6.0-testX...
Problema: do startx (apparte il fatto che il pan nn funge +), do glxgears e le rotelle girano mooolto + velocemente di prima (~200fps), ma glxinfo mi da sempre rendering: off...
Non capisco, inquanto l'acc.3d semba fungere, ma glxinfo dice di no (programmino pessimista... :lol: )
Ho emerso tuxkart per provare, ma il comando tuxkart sembra nn esistere (e se do emerge -p tuxkart mi dice [ebuild R ] ...
Mo sto ricompilando xfree xchè nell'output mi diceva una roba tipo system: 2.4.20-gentoo ecc, ma io ho cambiato kernel!!!
Un paio di orette (sono le 13.00, dovrebbe finire per le ~15.00) e vedum se cambia qualche cosa...
Un'ultima domanda, ma questa è circa XF86Config, nella sezione modules devo toglierlo 'radeon', visto ke l'ho compilato staticamente??
A ke ci sono vi butto li un'altra domanduola (circa il kernel 2.6), durante gli init, mi dice una roba tipo 'mounting /sys: not mounted, unnecessary in kernels 2.5+ (poi vi do l'output preciso), oki, nn va montato, ma per toglierlo glagli init??

Mi è successa una cosa simile recentemente! Alcuni giochi ora vengono installati in /usr/games/bin/ che non essendo nel PATH....

Comunque te ne puoi accorgere facilmente con

/usr/src/linux dove punta??? Non so come funzionino le cose con la radeon, ma con nvidia se non punta al kernel attualmente in uso quando emergi i driver non parte nulla!!!

qpkg fa parte del gentoolkit installalo e datti un'occhiata ai comandi sono UTILISSIMI!!!!!

Per il touchpad non so che dirti, non avendo un portatile non ho mai dovuto affrontare il problema!!!

Alura, sta notte ho fatto un pò di prove...
Ho provato ad applicare la patch di sopra ma falliva sia sull'xfree-4.3.0-r3 che sul 4.3.99.15.
Allora ho provato ad applicare la patch indicata da tavec all'xfree indicato da tavec, e si applica. L'ho compilato, ho compilato il modulo, indi un riavvio (ho anche cambiato qualcosina al kernel),

Il modulo si carica correttamente, indi startx, glxinfo e...

Non capisco + quale sia il problema...
Mo però se do glxgears nn gira più niente (nel senso che si apre la finestra con le rotelle, ma si richiude in una frazione di secondo...
Mi sa quasi quasi che sto ca**o di portatile mo lo butto giù dalla finestra...

Notare che nelle mie varie prove ho compilato versioni diverse di xfree almeno 3 volte, mo ke sono arrivate le 6 e mezza mi sa che /me va a dormire...
