SELinux: error when trying to map user

Greetings,

I am trying to install Hardened Gentoo with SELinux + PaX + FDE LUKS on an IBM Thinkpad X60. Currently I am able to boot into the system just fine, but I am trying to map my user account to the staff_u SELinux user and it is throwing the following error:

Code:

# semange login -a -s staff_u ****
libsemanage.dbase_llist_query: could not query record value
OSError: [Errno 0] Error


I have been following this guide: https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/SELinux/Installation

I don't know where to even begin troubleshooting this error - I have successfully run Hardened w/ PaX + FDE LUKS on many systems, but this is my first foray into SELinux. Any help would be much appreciated!

Update:

I have solved this problem by running the version of semanage compiled for python target 2.7 instead of 3.4.

Code:

/usr/lib/python-exec/python2.7/semanage login -a -s staff_u ****


This seems worthy of a bug report, possibly related to this one in RHEL: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1398427h
Also this one in Fedora: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1247714

Will file if anyone can tell me which logs and results to include
