When quoting would it be possible to truncate the original post, especially [ code ] tags in the quoted answer?
With an optional "expand" option to see full post?

The threads would be easier/faster to scroll i believe, would be awesome.

like the kind of "spoiler" tag in some forum?

i would rather prefer a "you cannot post this fast after last post" immunity to some users with a number of post count trigger :(

Do you mean something like the scrolling code box shown in the following post on a forum of another distribution?

If you do, I doubt it is possible to do that in the Gentoo forums, as the Gentoo forums use the older phpBB forum software (2.0.11):

https://forums.gentoo.org/docs/CHANGELOG.html

rather than the newer phpBB forum software (3.*) used by many other forums:

https://forum.sabayon.org/docs/CHANGELOG.html

Yes, something like that.
I understand, there are some limits in that/this version.

I was thinking something like this
