With the new 2.6 kernel, which runs MMU-less, we could do a port to the Z80, shall we? Gentoo on Gameboy, yes or no? |

No, it's not possible, because the Z80 is a 8-bit CPU, you will need a 16bit CPU as a minimum for a µlinux, 32bit for a "normal" one.....
Z80 also just can handle a maximum of 64KB without bankswitching, even the smallest kernel will need more than 256KB... _________________ 'Cynic' is a word invented by optimists to criticize realists. - Nigel. In the ocean of Night by Gregory Benford

You're better off trying to rewrite MINIX.
Now, the GBA - that's a whole other story. |

was just kidding
really, I was thinking about it on the GBA but thenI thought, hey, probably 2.6 with uclinux can do that, but obviously not.
Whats in the GBA anyways? _________________ "You cannot teach people anything. You can only help them discover it within themselves." --Galileo

32-bit ARM with THUMB extensions.
ARM7, perhaps?
Interesting fact: Palms and PocketPCs alike use ARM processors.
Interesting feature: THUMB is a 16-bit instruction set.
Horrible misfeature: The GBA has a 16-bit wide bus. |
