I'm trying to install Gentoo on a machine with a Linksys wireless NIC. It seems like the LiveCD kernel detects the device properly, but I can't get it to pull an IP address from the DHCP server. dmesg says something like:
eth0: ADMTek Comet .....
eth0: no IPv6 routers detected
If I run ipconfig eth0, it shows that the device does exist and shows a MAC address, but there's no IP address. I tried running dhcpcd eth0 and net-setup eth0 to no avail.
Is there any way to fix this? Does the IPv6 warning mean anything?
TIA,
Bill |

run iwconfig and post the output, your wireless NIC probably isnt connecting to the access point |
