This might belong in Gentoo Chat or Unsupported.
I just went to the Oracle download site to get the Javadoc files, and noticed I had the opportunity to change my Oracle cookie preferences. I decided I didn't want advertising from them or their partners, so I selected that. At which point it said it might take some time, and indeed did take a couple of minutes, and I thing my desktop flickered. What are they up to? Surely just setting and deleting a few cookies shouldn't take long. Not that I don't trust Oracle. Wonderful company. Only my best interest at heart. _________________ Greybeard |

This is a typical disclaimer when they implement the policy through some mechanism that needs time to propagate across their ad network. You would be better off using client-side anti-advertising extensions so that the preference does not matter. |
