Hi, I'm having problems installing KDE. If I install plasma 5.8, the version in stable, I have a bunch of packages which fails to download (obviously old versions of applications which are not on kde servers anymore), but newer version require kde-frameworks/plasma 9999 which simply fails to build. How to solve? |

What packages you cannot download?

kde-apps have nothing to do with plasma. You can install plasma without any kde-apps.
Anyway what version of kde-apps (in portage now there are only 16.12.3 or 17.04.1)? _________________ Questions are guaranteed in life; Answers aren't. |

What steps you have taken to keep this particular version? As you can see ebuilds in portage develop. _________________ My Gentoo installation notes.

You need to re-sync portage tree because version 16.12.2 no longer exists in portage.
Code: | [I] kde-apps/kio-extras
Available versions: (5) 16.12.3-r1^t (~)16.12.3-r2^t (~)17.04.1^t
{activities debug exif +handbook htmlthumbs +man mtp openexr phonon samba +sftp slp taglib test}
Installed versions: 17.04.1(5)^t(18:21:54 13. 05. 17)(exif handbook man mtp phonon sftp -activities -debug -htmlthumbs -openexr -samba -slp -taglib -test)

[I] kde-apps/khelpcenter
Available versions: (5) 16.12.3 (~)17.04.1
{debug +handbook}
Installed versions: 17.04.1(5)(18:23:15 13. 05. 17)(handbook -debug)
