|

Is there any way to adjust the brightness or contrast from within X? My laptops LCD is quite painful to look at without adjusted colors. Right now I've got gamma adjusted to -.7 and while I can look at the monitor the colors are extremely saturated and off which is why i need brightness/rgb/contrast adjustments.. |

Try using xgamma. It's in /usr/X11R6/bin/ on my machine.
`xgamma 1.5` will brighten the screen as it's at 1.0 by default.
I have an nvidia card tho, so I dont know if your video card will have the same effect, worth a try tho. |

I've already been using xgamma and like I've said it simply isn't enough. I need full RGB, contrast, and brightness adjustment. |
