Let's say this gets implemented without the user having control over it at some point. Will you guys put in a useflag to opt it out during compile time?

Gentoo could add that, but it wouldn't accomplish much (and it can be turned on/off without a recompile by putting a mozilla.cfg file in the correct place).

Users of PiHole and other DNS-based adblocking solutions to blanket protect an entire LAN are going to be left high and dry.

I find it disturbing that we need to protect ourselves against Mozilla now.
