Evolution dies on big email attachments

I emailed myelf (from a remote computer) an 8MB jpeg. I can't save, move or delete this file!

I had to forward it to my Windows computer so I could save it from Outlook and then edit on my Gentoo Linux computer.

When I try to do anything with this file in Evolution it dies. Meaning Evolution quits responding to user input. OK, I thought maybe it was just busy moving this file (or deleting or saving) but I let it sit for 10 minutes. Running top showed it taking most of the processor. It just seems to be hanging.

My question is: Is anyone else having problems with large attachments with Evolution?

I am running Evolution 1.4.5 and Gnome 2.4
