I really don't know how everything gets slower after touching OpenRC. _________________ Answers please.

No, I am not using a CPU governor.
I am giving you an update of what I've been doing with this laptop so far.
I emerged sys-apps/inxi and used it. I found out that my CPU was clocked at 800 MHz, instead of 2.00 GHz. So I went into the BIOS setup and disabled PowerNow!. It is now back to 2GHz. Despite my effort, I still get the same slow speed.
I haven't noticed one thing until now: The hard drive LED is on constantly whenever I do a task such as launching Firefox. As I recall, before I halted on X11 a month ago, my hard drive's LED would blink only once or twice whenever I perform tasks. I don't know why this is happening.
I hope I gave enough info for you to help.
Any help is appreciated.
