I finnished my stage 1 install, installed gnome and misc goddies. All good and all working great, yay! I think it may have todo with the power management options I set during kernel config, because after not being at console for a while "sometimes" the screen blanks out, and I can't get it to come back, the whole keyboard is unresponsive, I can't get anything to happen without hitting restart (very nasty). Other times I hit a key and it comes back to life no problem. What did I do? |

issue these commands:
setterm -blank 0
xset s off
the first controls a console screen
the second does the same for an X session _________________ Linux on an AMD processor: an OS for people who dont use deoderant with a CPU for people who can't afford deoderant |

Do you have a tv in/out GeForce Ti 4 based card?
if so, ensure that your y adapter for tv in/out is NOT plugged into your vid card when you turn on the machine. for some reason, it messes things up. you can plug it in after the booting is complete.
if that's not the case, then I have no answers! _________________ James Addison
