I'm not sure what went wrong.
I just finished configuring the system, compiled the kernel, installed the software I needed, configured the boot loader.
I reboot, GRUB works fine, I can normally use the keyboard.
OpenRC starts, I get to the login from CLI, but the keyboard doesn't work. I try to plug in a spare keyboard, and it works fine.
Any clue on what am I doing wrong? I believe that if it's a mis-configuration of the kernel, both keyboards wouldn't be functioning. |

What is manufacturer and model of keyboard that not works? You can also post an lsusb output when you plug keyboard? _________________ Questions are guaranteed in life; Answers aren't. |

I've seen those symptoms before. One keyboard works. Another fails. In my case, the failing keyboard required a special kernel option beyond just enabling USB keyboard support. When that option was unset, the kernel did not accept the keyboard. Once it was enabled, the keyboard worked fine. If I recall correctly, the failing keyboard was a Microsoft-branded USB keyboard that was not fully HID-compliant. A Microsoft-related product, not standard compliant? Shocking, I know. |
