[Moderator note: this was originally an untitled response to already solved topic [SOLVED]Keyboard not responding after update to 4.12 kernel.. Based on the responses in the resulting subthread, the issue appears unrelated, so I moved it to a new thread and assigned a title. -Hu]
After set CONFIG_USB_PCI in Kernel 4.12.* I have mouse pointer lags when I running something heavy like Chromium and moving mouse pointer. |

feriman: and when you disable that symbol, the lag ceases and there are no other side effects? |

If your mouse doesn't work when the symbol is off, how do you know that setting the symbol to on causes your mouse to lag? You can't test for lag when the mouse does not work. |

@Hu
I'm sorry, it's my suppose only, but I have no any issues before this setting appears in 4.12.* kernels. I have tried to make 4.12.5 kernel using my current 4.9.34's kernel config using 'make olddefconfig' with and without 'make localmodconfig', 'make defconfig' with same results for my mouse. This mouse 'lag' is appreciable when i.e. I running Chromium opening last session with about 5 tabs with 'heavy' pages and moving mouse in this time. |

feriman: since your problem seems to be unrelated to the use of this symbol (but was only exposed when setting this symbol so that your mouse worked at all), I moved your post and all the responses to it into a new thread. Since you responded to a previously solved thread, some people who might otherwise be able to help you might have skipped the thread entirely, believing there were no problems left to solve. |
