|
|
Hi,
I search to access to my IPhone 5S with iOS 10.3.x to get my pictures on my PC Desktop.
I emerge libimobiledevice with OpenSSL support, usbmuxd, libusbmuxd are installed.
gvfs package was emerged with "ios" flag.
I plug my Iphone to the PC and i launch all command which are explained in the Apple wiki :
Code: | $idevice_id -l
f4d6398ab8458cb9f1fffe06de6e9df4ef08dd21
$ idevicepair pair
SUCCESS: Paired with device f4d6398ab8458cb9f1fffe06de6e9df4ef08dd21 |
But when i launch "ideviceinfo" to verify that communications with the device works, i have this :
Code: | $ ideviceinfo
ERROR: Could not connect to lockdownd, error code -5 |
I have no problems on my Debian with the same way... Only on Gentoo and i don't know why.
Thanks for your help,

Bon jour Babaorheum,
As far as I can tell, I have exactly the same situation! And I have tried to use the same way, i.e. compile and install the git version of libimobiledevice.
Before actually installing the git-version I tried to remove the installed "ebuild-version" and I have entered:
Code: |
# emerge --ask -pv --depclean libimobiledevice
Calculating dependencies... done!
app-pda/libimobiledevice-1.2.0 pulled in by:
app-pda/ifuse-1.1.3 requires >=app-pda/libimobiledevice-1.1.4:=, >=app-pda/libimobiledevice-1.1.4:0/6=
app-pda/usbmuxd-1.0.8_p20140530 requires >=app-pda/libimobiledevice-1.1.6
gnome-base/gvfs-1.30.4 requires >=app-pda/libimobiledevice-1.2:0/6=, >=app-pda/libimobiledevice-1.2:=
|
As I understand there are dependencies with regard to gvfs, ifuse and usbmuxd.
So my question is, how did you deal with the dependencies?
Could you please help? |

If you use libimobiledevice-9999.ebuild of srcshelton overlay you don't need to to uninstall current version _________________ Questions are guaranteed in life; Answers aren't. |

fedeliallalinea,
Thank you so much! Now it works again.
Yesterday I even didn't know what an overlay is. And now I am almost an
expert.
The learning curve is really steep! gentoo is great.
Thank you. |
