|
|
I downloaded the latest version of Mosfet's Liquid engine (0.9.5) and am using an emerged KDE3 (don't know how to find out the exact build). I did the usual ./configure; su; make; make install as per the (rather minimal) readme, and now when I start KDE as my usual user kicker fails to load. Any attempts to restart it result in a segv. Logging in as root does not seem to cause this problem. Does anyone know what gives?
Also, I haven't switched styles with my that user yet. Root can be switched between Liquid and other styles several times with no problems. So AFAIK nothing has changed for my user... |

this doesn't directly address your problem, but the liquid theme has been packaged as an ebuild (x11-themes/mosfet-liquid-widgets). Maybe removing the source code you compiled manually and merging that would help. Just a suggestion... |

Wow. I didn't know that... (/me feels dumb)
I'll try that when KDevelop finishes compiling. |

no need to feel dumb. I had already downloaded the source myself and was preparing to do a manual install when I thought I'd try doing an 'emerge search liquid' just for the hell of it. As you can imagine, I was pleasantly surprised when it turned up.
By the way, I noticed that you're from Slidell. I grew up in Chalmette and Covington. Nice to meet you. |
