hi there,
i am using gentoo for 12 years now, but having difficulties to understand something debian related...
i want to update firebird2.5-superclassic on a debian server.
the clients(windoozze) using this database are complaining i need version 2.5.5 of the firebird database.
when i try to update firebird2.5 on the server (apt-get install firebird2.5-superclassic) it says it has already the currently newest version installed. i could figure out 2.5.2 is installed (via dpkg --list firebird2.5*)
as for gentoo i would simply add firebird to package.keywords, what would allow me to install unstable software.
how do i do that for debian.
first of all i would like to see which packages are available in branche "testing" on debian....
any help is very much appreciated. _________________ I do not have a Superman complex, for I am God not Superman
