sto cercando di seguire questo topic https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=47928
ma non riesco a trovare i sorgenti del dirver che mi serve per stampare, ovvero il lex5700
ho anche provato a far funzionare la stampante col file ppd recuperato da linuxprinting.org, ma non funziona 
chi può aiutarmi?

Quel thread si riferisce ad una stampante epson! Tu non hai una lexmark??
Prova ad emergere gimp-print io uso i driver compresi in quel pacchetto!!

non ho una lexmark, ho una Xerox-Workcentre XK35C
su linuxprinting.org ho trovato che il driver consigliato è il lex5700 dato che la mia stampante usa lo stesso motore. |

molto bene, ho trovato il driver che è parte dei ghostscript, ho installato tutto il necessario, e ovviamente compilato il kernel per l'occasione.
però ora che ho fatto tutto e ho aggiunto la stampante, e messa sulla porta parallela col giusto driver,
quando dico di stampare la pagina di stampa dice hce ha madanto il lavoro m non accade nulla.
chi mi consiglia qualcosa? |

| no non è usb, è su porta parallela. compilando il kernel, ho messo quello che i serviva direttamente come built-in |

sto seguiendo la guida e già ho visto che non avevo abilitato un modulo nel kernel, quindi ho fatto una piccola verifica,

ma non succede nulla. ora sto ricompilando il kernel con la roba nuova (che @@ poi dovrò ricompliare alsa per l'ennesima volta  ) |

Ma la stampante non era parallela? Così stai provando a stampare sulla porta usb. |
