Championship Manager 2003/04 working under wine

I was so happy that this game worked completely under wine I just had to post

Runs fast and flawlessly.

That's good news. I personally don't like the game very much, but I have friends who do. Also, what's that WM you're using?

Sorry to drag up an oldish topic but I was about to order this game and before I do I just wanted to double-check that the problems with CM4 and Wine are fixed in CM 03/04 before spending my hard-earned cash

The two problems were:
1) It was unresponsive, i.e. there was a noticible pause between clicking on something and anything actually happening. Not a huge pause but enough to be irritating and make it pretty-much unplayable. Presumably that's fixed now, based on the fact you said it runs fast?
2) The 2D match engine didn't work properly - ran at about 1/100th speed if I remember rightly!

Can you confirm these are now ok? if so....woohoo!

also was it the demo version you tried, or the full game?

It was the full version of the game, and it runs a bit slower than under windows, but that maybe because I was running with all the leagues. As for the 2d game bit, that is quite slow, so I play with that turned off.
