PINN now supports Sakaki's 64-bit build of Gentoo for the Raspberry Pi3 and PiTop. (See https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-1058530.html)
What is PINN?
PINN is a fork of the RaspberryPi NOOBS installer that includes some additional advanced features.
It allows easy installation of many different operating systems using a FAT32 formatted SD card, so it is easy to use for beginners coming from Windows, or more advanced users alike.
It can install several operating systems simultaneously to the same SD card or USB drive and includes a boot manager to select which OS will be executed on boot.
Operating systems can be downloaded from the internet, or for offline use they can be installed from the SD card or a separate USB stick.
Some other notable features are:- Password recovery
- SD card clone
- Recovery shell
- Remote operation via VNC
- Self-update
- Installation of over 30 different operating systems, including: general, educational and minimal Linux distros, media centres, and retro games
PINN is in constant development with new features being developed all the time.
New announcements are made on the Raspberry Pi Forum at: PINN - An enhanced version of NOOBS.
Pinn-lite.zip (35M download, the equivalent of noobs-lite) is downloadable from sourceforge.
Full documentation of PINN is available on the PINN github which includes documentation of NOOBS, plus info about the additional features and all source code. |
