|
|
Hi everyone,
I am installing Gentoo Linux for the first time. Everything working according to the instructions that came with it. Though when I get to the step where the nano text editor has to be used I get the Illegal instruction error.
Example: nano -w /etc/make.conf
I am able to get the help list when I type nano -h without any error. What can I do to fix this problem.
Thanks for any help.

That might be it. I am using the athlon-xp live cd. You see I have a athlon-xp computer and a athlon-tbird computer. I thought that I would test the Gentoo install on the old computer. That seemed to be fine since it booted.
Anyway I will download the athlon version and try again.
Thanks
