|
|
At the end of running emerge openoffice-bin, this is what I get..
Code: | >>> Completed installing into /var/tmp/portage/openoffice-bin-1.1.0/image/
--------------------------- ACCESS VIOLATION SUMMARY ---------------------------
LOG FILE = "/tmp/sandbox-openoffice-bin-1.1.0-29550.log"
open_wr: /opt/OpenOffice.org1.0.2/foo.tmp
unlink: /opt/OpenOffice.org1.0.2/delme
------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
I was hoping it didn't matter but when I try to run ooffice from the command line I get "Aborted" with no error messages or anything (as root or a user) |

I had the same error today while trying to emerge OO-bin-1.1.0, with the only difference it was
Code: |
open_wr: /opt/OpenOffice.org1.0.0/foo.tmp
unlink: /opt/OpenOffice.org1.0.0/delme
|
in my case.
Anyway. the fix for this is simple. As you install as user 'root', there might be a file named ".sversionrc" in root's home-directory. This is read for whatever-reasons by the OO-installer, maybe to find older versions? Because of portage's sandbox-concept, the install-process cannot access the directories given in .sversionrc.
So just delete .sversionrc from root's-home.
The was a bug-report in bugs.gentoo.org, and i filed an answer, We are not alone ;o)
