QT linker errors block dev-qt/qtgui-5.7.1-r1 after update

This has proven quite frustrating. The linker error is "ld: cannot find -lqtharfbuzzng"
revdep-rebuild claims by system is consistent but ldconfig does not fix the error.
Even emerge -e @world had no affect on it.

It looks from emerge -pqv that something is trying to pull in /qtgui-5.9.2 but it's not in my world file and the update command shows no such blocker.
