nForce net drivers and Kernel 2.6

I've read somewhere that one of the outstanding jobs for kernel 2.6 is to write a GPL module which will run nForce ethernet, instead of having to load the closed-source one separately.

Is this correct? If it is, does anyone know whether it is included in any of the releases so far?

This will all affect when I upgrade the kernel...

yes, it works great.

it is included in test9-mm2 onwards. however its available as a patch so you can apply it to any kernel test9 upwards.

To me that's the biggie, far more important than the audio or video driver, because how can someone download them if they can't get on the net in the first place?
