I've read somewhere that one of the outstanding jobs for kernel 2.6 is to write a GPL module which will run nForce ethernet, instead of having to load the closed-source one separately.
Is this correct? If it is, does anyone know whether it is included in any of the releases so far?
This will all affect when I upgrade the kernel... _________________ Gentoo, PCLOS-pre-81a and Windows 98SE.

yes, it works great.
it is included in test9-mm2 onwards. however its available as a patch so you can apply it to any kernel test9 upwards. _________________ http://dev.gentoo.org/~dsd |

To me that's the biggie, far more important than the audio or video driver, because how can someone download them if they can't get on the net in the first place?
