|
|
I recently took possession of my new Gemini PDA, and being a complete noob at Android, have no idea how to connect it to my Gentoo system, preferably as a filesystem, alternatively using some sort of file transfer client.
The Gemini PDA uses Android 7.1.
I tried to install sys-fs/mtpfs but as soon as I try 'cd' into the directory or 'ls' the directory, I get a Code: | <snip>
getattr /Playlists
Attempt to unlock mutex that was not locked
Aborted (core dumped) |
If it actually worked, I would probably setup a udev rule to auto mount.
Any suggestions as to what to install?
When I plug it in, and select 'File Transfer' on the Gemini, I see the following messages in the system log, showing it is there.
Code: | Mar 28 10:38:51 Lyalls-PC kernel: [859521.634465] usb 1-1.3: new high-speed USB device number 14 using xhci_hcd

I never used sys-fs/mtpfs, but if you use a desktop environment you can activate mtp use flag.
In kde there is kde-apps/kio-extras and in gnome (or DE gtk centric) there is gnome-base/gvfs that provide to auto-mount mtp devices. _________________ Questions are guaranteed in life; Answers aren't. |

Problem is, I don't use a desktop environment, as such.
I use Fluxbox.

Ok, solved it.
I don't use KDE desktop but I do have Dolphin installed.
Enabled mtp USE flag in my /etc/portage/make.conf (globally), did a re-build.
Bingo, device shows up and appears to operate correctly.
Thanks all. _________________ ...Lyall |
