I honestly did not think it would be as simple as just emerging gnome. and having my use flags modified. I was expecting to have to manually install Xserver and individual applications! I'm thinking this Gentoo thing is going to be a loooooot easier than what I initially thought - it's just compile times. And I didn't even think about my CPU threading, so I had my Makeopts set lower, so it actually could have been faster. I also could have selected a lighter DE than gnome for shorter compile time.
Just wow. Thank god for portage. I am still getting the hang of things, but now I am starting to see why people stick with Gentoo. |

Agree, actually. 
(Although I probably wouldn't try a full DE. Compiling Firefox almost kills me every time.)

Try WebKit-GTK on a Pentium M.
