merge two initrds into one? or load both at boot?

hi there,

I have two ramdisks in /boot. one initrd for bootsplash and one for the encrypted root filesystem. but as far as i know two initrds can not be loaded at the same time, but because of the fact that i need the encryption initrd i cannot load the bootsplash initrd anymore, so here is my question: is there a possibility to merge both initrds into one or to load both when booting??
