I have VIA-8235 on board and I'm using ALSA.
Sound plays, I can adjust it only through alsamixer. Mixers from Gnome and KDE don't work, they have audio controls from TV Card PCI audio module (Line1, Line2, Line3).
I have to manually set most of applications to use ALSA, because autodection doesn't seem to work.
It looks like most applications think that my soundcard is audio module (radio) from TV card, they don't see my onboard VIA soundcard automatically, so I have to set up them manually. It's very annoying.
