USB 3.0 (xHCI) doesn't work

On my laptop (Sony VAIO SVT13), I've got one usb port which is 3.0. The thing is after compiling a kernel, it magically stopped responding. It does give a voltage, but the data can't be sent though it. Lspci says that i have an intel controlled usb hub, lsusb says that the hub is present, but on verbose there is a message (Couldn't open device, some information will be missing), also the whole lsusb -vs blah:blah is here. I've tried many kernel config options mentioning xhci, but it still did nothing. Here is whole config | grep USB. And dmesg, if it's somehow needed. Also there is a 90 degrees tilted thunderbolt just above the port, but I doubt it can support thunderbolt, usb should be working without it, right?

What kernels work and don't work (version?)

The lightning bolt is typically denoting any USB ports that will supply power when the machine is turned off for charging miscellaneous USB devices...

This is a kernel this machine is currently running, all commands were run on the same uptime. It runs, and it runs great, everything runs smoothly (except for the graphics, but it's not crucial, and this one usb port). I will try to update to a new kernel, though it's not any major release. I preety much just installed gentoo on this laptop, and not sure if it's the bug in the kernel, or just me being stupid.

From dmesg, you have both USB2 and USB3 ports. The PCI end seems to be OK.

How are you determining 'no data can be sent through it'?

The Couldn't open device, some information will be missing message is a result of not running the command as root.
Not even USB 1 or USB 2?

NeddySeagoon, I mean that the power is delivered, but when I connect devices to it, they don't respond. There is no message on the laptop, neither in lsusb, nor in dmesg. This port is currently only charging, no EHCI, even no UHCI. But when I connected the usb drive while in tty, i've noticed a message about irq, telling me to boot with irqpoll, guess problem's solved.

irqpoll is at best a workaround for a kernel bug.

Try a testing kernel and see if its fixed.
