I have a 600 mhz Intel Celeron processor. Which package do I need to download. I have read many different posts, but I was never able to figure out which package I need to download. Do I need one of the pentium ones?? I have tried intalling Gentoo using a package for a Pentium III processor and there was an error when i tried unzipping the .tar file. Is that because I'm using the wrong package? please help me, i'm a little frustrated that i can't even get linux installed! |

i would go for the generic i686 livecd.. that seems to me to be the wisest course of action.

tommyfila,
I am a linux geek, I have performed stage 1 installs I use the following location to get my stuff from http://gentoo.chem.wisc.edu/gentoo/releases/x86/1.4/livecd/basic/
I use the basic cd, it is usable on 486 + computers, so I do not have to worry about having the correct cd or anything.
