|
|
xorg-server-1.19.5-r2 does work. With xorg-server-1.20.0, the computer freezes with a blank screen, and I can't even get to a console with <cntl><alt>F1. I don't have time to work on this now, but thought if someone else is having this problem they might want to know that at least one other person is having this problem. I'm running kernel 4.17.1, but earlier versions of the kernel also fail with xorg-server-1.20.0.

Xorg.0.log and emerge --info would help. I have no issues. |

Information about hardware and driver would be useful.
Also how hard does the system lock up? Does it still respond to Magic SysRq, or ssh/ping over the network? |

since one is using intel and one is using nvidia. it is probably input related
try to remove keyboard and mouse from INPUT_DEVICES, you probably do not need them. that is the common denominator from what i see too. evdev+synaptics or evdev alone or libinput alone |

Hi,
I have the same problem but my screen turns white.
The conflict seems to be with the compositor of XFCE. When I disable display compositing it starts without problems.
I think there was a bug about this but I couldn't find it. I'm sorry. |

Probably not. But xorg-server-1.20.0 has fixed the problem, and might also fix yours. |
