Hello,

dmesg display something but i don't show up in fdisk.
Code: | [So Jul 8 21:35:35 2018] usb 3-2: new high-speed USB device number 3 using xhci_hcd
[So Jul 8 21:35:35 2018] usb 3-2: New USB device found, idVendor=X, idProduct=X, bcdDevice= 1.00
[So Jul 8 21:35:35 2018] usb 3-2: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3
[So Jul 8 21:35:35 2018] usb 3-2: Product: DataTraveler 2.0
[So Jul 8 21:35:35 2018] usb 3-2: Manufacturer: Kingston
[So Jul 8 21:35:35 2018] usb 3-2: SerialNumber: X |
xHCI and EHCI are enable in kernel (gentoo-sources-4.17.4) also the filesystem vfat/msdos/ntfs.
Lately i changed my fstab with "nodev" i try to edit it and boot without nodev. it doesn't solve the problem.
Code: | /dev/sda2 /boot ext4 noauto,noatime 1 2
/dev/sda3 / ext4 noatime,errors=remount-ro 0 1
/dev/sda4 /var ext4 noatime,nodev,nosuid,noexec 0 2
/dev/sda5 /usr ext4 rw,noatime,nodev 0 2
#/dev/sda6 /home ext4 noatime,nodev,nosuid,noexec 0 2
none /tmp tmpfs rw,noatime,nosuid,noexec,nodev 0 0
none /var/tmp tmpfs rw,noatime,nosuid,nodev 0 0
none /var/tmp/portage tmpfs rw,noatime,nosuid,nodev,mode=755,uid=portage,gid=portage,x-mount.mkdir=775 0 0 |

USB 3 can support USB attached SCSI but it needs UAS aware storage devices too.
If its in your kernel and supported by youur hardware, it will be used.
Its very little extra to add to your kernel. _________________ Regards,
