But does it work under Wine?

Just downloading it now, I'm going to try to see if it'll work under normal Wine, if not, it's off to Windows for a few hours. :D

Announcement and mirrors.

I don't know if that will be good enough. Im playing it on an FX5600 and even at 800x600 with other settings turned down, the framerate is noticeably low, but playable. Other than that the game is awesome so far.

Well, it didn't work under Wine, so I booted into Windows to play.

And I really don't like it. :/

I loved Deus Ex, but this just doesn't... feel right. It feels dumbed-down. Really wish I hadn't played it... :/

Another game ruined by it's sequel.

I think it'd have been better to get a GeForce 4 Ti 4200, probably a used one, but anyway, the performance boost from a GeForce 2 MX 400 to a GeForce 5200 should still be impressive.

It's just that the 5200 performs worse than the older Ti 4200 AFAIK.

thats the problem, i cant really get a used GF4Ti card.. or i would.. (if i knew where.. but we dont have second-hand parts store around here)

i have GF2 MX400 64mb, and i ordered a GF FX 5200 256mb..

100$ with shipping..

and that is all the money i have..

i jsut posted -> https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=108559 <--there, so.. if you have recomdations for a better video card.. post there, please..

lets keep this thread focused on DX:IW and that ^ thread on my video woes..

This is starting to piss me off..

They keep making games on the PC "feel" like console games.
If I wanted to play console games I'd buy a FUCKING console!!!
