I've installed on my dads computer gentoo. So now I have installed evolution as email client.
My problem is that I can't connect to the pop-Server. I have the same problem with ftp too.Says "Connection refused..."
The internet connection is working because I can browse webpage.
So why can I access web pages, but cant send emails or connect to a ftp
Would be great, if somebody could help me

Hi,
I solved the problem. The problem was, in my resolv.conf was the IP of my router. And how it looks my router can only resolve the ip's of the http protocol. Now I have changed the ip's to the DNS server of my internet provider. Now ftp and pop3 are working too.
