Gentoo live USB for Excito B2 (with Linux 4.9.72) released

Do you own an Excito B2 (aka "Bubba|2", a ppc/e300c3 miniserver)?

If so, you may be interested to know that I've just released version 1.5.0 of my live-USB image of Gentoo Linux for the B2, on GitHub (here).

It uses kernel version 4.9.72 from gentoo-sources, with the necessary B2-specific patches applied.

You can burn the supplied image to a USB key (>=8Gb), then boot your B2 from it, without affecting any installed system on your B2's hard drive. You can even boot a diskless B2! No soldering, compilation or U-Boot flashing is required.

It's a full (persistent) ppc Gentoo system, not simply a 'minimal install' or 'stage3', so you can run emerge operations etc. immediately. Profile 17.0 is used, and a weekly autobuild binhost is provided for convenience.

Full instructions are provided on the GitHub page (including how to specify initial network settings, so you can ssh in once booted).
