|
|
When I tried to compile kernel using genkernel I've got the following error
ln: failed to create symbolic link 'kernel': Operation not permitted
* ERROR: Could not create the kernel symlink!
My config as follows:
sys-kernel/genkernel-next-68
sys-kernel/gentoo-sources-4.14.65
/boot mounted as rw
ls -a /boot
. .. EFI grub kernel-genkernel-x86_64-4.14.65-gentoo System.map-genkernel-x86_64-4,14,65-gentoo
in genkernel.conf
SYMLINK=yes"
When I disable symlink creation everything is fine
PLEASE HELP _________________ best regards

gol70,
What kind of filesystem is your /boot?
If it's fat32 / vfat, I don't think it supports symbolic links. Try creating a file in your /boot and then a symbolic link to that file. |

Arghh.......
Yes - you have right. It's FAT32 (the only one supported on EFI boot partition).
It is a pity that the WIKI genkernel page does not mention it which is confusing for the newbies.
Thank you for the support! _________________ best regards
