need help with nvidia modules

ok i want to put 2.6 kernel series on my computer

i have a abit nf7-s (nforce2 chipset, with the onboard ethernet)

and my ti4200 video card

will these modules compile against the 2.6 kernel?

yes I have the nf7-s also, and it will, but it's not easy. The current gentoo 2.6 livecd doesn't have nvnet on it. So if you boot off of it then it wont detect your network card, but it will detect everything else, even the SATA perfectly. If you use a 1.4 livecd the nvnet will work, but the SATA wont. You have to use a 1.4 livcd then compile a 2.6 kernel with all the modules you need. Then you need to make sure you get all the correct nvidia stuffs. If you wait, like I am, until the official 2.6 livecd comes out then it will be 1000 times easier because you will be able to set up a new kernel while in one that works perfect already.

but the whole problem is, there is NO working nvnet module for 2.6, unless im mistaking

There is a patch for nvnet. There were some threads in the Networking forum but I can't find them atm. this should cover it though:
