I recently acquired a shiny new Oryx Pro laptop from System76, and I'm working to get Gentoo installed on it. I've run into one major hitch so far.

After selecting the kernel to boot in Grub, it shows the messages for loading the kernel and the initrd, and then the cursor just sits on the next line and blinks. I've tried a few variations of framebuffer driver selections, and I've installed the official nvidia-drivers package. For those who aren't familiar, the system has hybrid Intel integrated and Nvidia GTX 1070 discrete graphics cards.

Here's my kernel config: https://pastebin.com/wP8neWhB

And here's my lspci:

Code:

I've actually fixed this, although I'm not entirely confident what ended up being the solution. I poked through the config options for the Ubuntu distro that they ship with the laptop, and enabled several of them that I didn't already have. I'll try and get a copy of my new config posted soon, to show what's working.

Hi Utoxin,

Do you perhaps still have this kernel config somewhere?

I have the exact same laptop and I'm trying to get Xorg-server and the right kernel configs to work with this laptop...
I would very much like to see your config if that's okay with you?
