Hi,
Just a heads up for anyone upgrading to app-misc/lirc 0.10.1. The upgrade replaced my /etc/lirc/lircd.conf with the package default without asking. Maybe I missed something and it was somehow my fault but dispatch-conf and etc-update made no mention of it needing to be updated or replaced and it had been working fine for years until just today.
Looks like the new version of /etc/lirc/lircd.conf it put in place of mine uses the config folder structure of /etc/lirc/lircd.conf.d/ which is also news to me. Maybe I missed a notice about this somewhere but I don't see anything in "eselect news list" going back to 2013.

I also updated lirc and now the mce remote control does not work. Why old lirc ebuild removed?
Is there any help on how to get back to work? I use little old 4.4. gentoo-sources kernel.
